Protoierei Sergey (ROCA), his matushka, and their five children have been expelled from Russia and banned from entering the Russian Federation. As stated in the announcement, ‘he poses a threat to the state.’ They are prohibited from entering Russia until May 2074.

They spent their entire lives in Berdyansk (Ukraine), where they organized an Orthodox parish and built a church. Although Fr. Sergey was never a member of any political party, never preached on political topics, and no one in the family violated any laws of the state, the FSB (today's KGB) decided that Fr. Sergey and his family should not be allowed entry into Russia.

Of course, all this is happening because today Berdyansk, as a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine, has been occupied by Russian forces and annexed to the Russian Federation.
