The Russian Federation plans to adopt a bill prohibiting the performance of religious services and other religious rites in residential premises and using non-residential premises in apartment buildings for these purposes. Thus, the Russian Federation is planning to adopt a law similar to the one in force in Belarus, according to which any religious activity of an unregistered religious group is prohibited (while registration is impossible). Violation of this law (holding a prayer meeting in an apartment or non-residential premises) is punishable in Belarus by a sentence of up to 2 years in prison. More on this here and here.
